Dual-Clutch
A Dual-Clutch Transmission (DSG) is an advanced type of automatic gearbox that combines the convenience of an automatic with the performance and efficiency of a manual transmission. DSG gearboxes are equipped with two clutches: one for the odd gears (1st, 3rd, 5th, etc.) and another for the even gears (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.). This design allows for seamless shifting, as when the gearbox is in one gear, the next gear is already pre-selected on the other clutch. As a result, gear changes are incredibly fast and smooth, with little to no interruption in power delivery. This system is controlled by a sophisticated electronic unit, which manages the timing and coordination of the clutches to optimize performance, fuel efficiency, and driving comfort.
